Here is how Dr. Cameron Rokhsar treats hyperhidrosis of the underarms using the Miradry machine. The Miradry machine uses microwaves that selectively target sweat glands in the underarms, permanently reducing sweating in the area. First, the underarms are marked with a template that corresponds to the size of the patient's underarms. Dr. Rokhsar then numbs the underarms using the tumescent technique, which is a combination of lidocaine, epinephrine, and saline that not only makes the procedure completely painless, but also cushions the important nerves running in the area. Then the underarms are treated following the template. Ice packs are given after the procedure to reduce the hot sensation, soreness, and swelling in the underarms. Dr. Rokhsar recommends patients to have 2 sessions of Miradry to have best treatment of hyperhidrosis, spaced out between 3 months. Patients can expect somewhere around an 80-90% improvement, with a small number of patients requiring a 3rd session. As the first doctor in New York City to have the Miradry machine, Dr. Rokhsar has treated more patients with the Miradry for underarm sweating than any other doctor.

Dr. Cameron Rokhsar a double board certified in dermatology and dermatologic surgery. Dr. Rokhsar is an associate professor at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York City (NYC), where he teaches dermatology residents cosmetic dermatology and laser surgery. People from all over the country fly over to New York City (NYC) to get treated by Dr. Rokhsar and his advanced laser techniques.
