This is the 5th annual update by Glacier Expert Steve Salis. It has been updated for 2024. he of course shows us how beautiful the park is but also how to navigate the Vehicle Reservation System- which could keep you out of the park. He describes each of the Park's 5 activity areas as well as things to do in each. There's a section on the park's shuttle and Bus tours, horse trail rides, tour boats and bike rentals.
He list and describes his favorite hikes for all skill levels and provides an itinerary for a 1 week stay.
Because of the overcrowding issue, he tells you how and when to visit the park in the off-season and also where to stay inside and outside the park.
And, of course how to stay safe in Bear country.

For those who want to visit Glacier, please use these videos to plan your trip. I am visually disabled and used these videos to plan a flawless trip. We have now visited 27 of the big National Parks. Glacier is our #1.
Thank you for making these videos. You are a treasure to those of us working to make a trip magical. Much love to you my friend <3

I took your advice last summer, and my friends and I stopped on the Highline trail at the lunch spot. Great place for lunch, and then we turned back around to Logan Pass where we parked. We also did the hike to the Hidden Lake overlook. Great day of hiking! A few other hikes that week as well, including to Iceberg Lake. It’s my favorite park as well.

Stumbled on your video while planning a trip to Glacier national Park. Your video is awesome. I haven’t seen one before but I like that you’re no nonsense right to the point not a lot of jibber jabber and hoopla, just the facts. I like the way you explain it very well but simple. kudos thank you for informative videos.

Great video, Steve! Awesome that you had footage over the years before the recent national park restrictions. Hopefully, that will change.

I live in Calgary... Yes, having Waterton-Glacier practically in your backyard is VERY nice! We actually had to decide to NOT go to Glacier this year because we've done it the last two. Waterton is still just a day trip for us though 🙂

Incidentally, my favourite hike in Waterton is the Bear's Hump. It's the promontory overlooking the Prince of Wales Hotel... Wonderful view of the entire valley, while still having some peaks rising above you.

My husband and I will be visiting Glacier NP late August 2025 (just got 4 days reservations in 3 park hotels 🙂) and loved all the information you crammed into your 37-minute video ... many thanks! It will be my retirement celebration trip. I'll be 73 and my husband 74, and I have a bad foot, so would like to know more easy hikes, beyond the 2 you mentioned (Trail of the Cedars and St. Mary Falls). We'll be staying at Rising Sun Motor Inn 2 nights, Many Glacier 1 night, and Lake McDonald 1 night. Thank you!

The permitting legislation was actually introduced to the House by Joel Hefley (CO) in 1999 and adopted into law in May 2000. We can thank the 106th Congress for charging film permitting in National Parks for "commercial" use.

The Venetian government would benefit from studying the feasibility of reserved timed entry. The 5 euro fee apparently did nothing to reduce the numbers of visitors. I experienced such a system at Arches National Park in April/May 2024 and also at the Ufizi Gallery in Florence in 1999. In May of 2022, the system at the Ufizi is different and not good at keeping down the crowds...it was shoulder to shoulder in the most popular areas. Oh well, I should probably stop flying for pleasure anyway. Thanks for an informative video. Mahalo nui loa. Malama pono.

Thank you, Glacier every year till I cannot. I am a bigger fan of the east side, so Much easier this year for me. I will try to get Many Glasier pass, but If I don't, I will go early early.

Not sure what you look like, but I always picture Tom Hanks because you sound like him to me. Always a good video. We went here last year and are going again this summer for 12 days total at various campsites.
On the subject of video fees, there is an updated fee schedule showing a zero cost for 1-2 persons with tripod and camera at National parks. I could not find if GNP tacks on a usage fee, that was difficult to locate as each park can make up there own beyond the permit fee. I feel like videos like yours should be exempt, but how they would determine that I don't know. I do enjoy scene stealing when I see a tik tocker, an influencer or another of the growing group of unproductives.
As far as the thin walls of the lodges, no one wants to hear old people rummaging in the sock drawer either
