a Korean here, it's the same over there, or maybe more extreme in terms of the home ( Apt ) ownership. People borrow so much money to buy an expensive home.( We call it '영끌': Borrow including your soul ) The entire economy is running to sustain the value of the real estate. Families have no money to spend after making payments related to home ownership therefore, small businesses are closing and people lose jobs, this cycle is not sustainable by all mean. Hey, America!! you can handle this right? you can print more money!! lol Long live America!!

I honestly don’t know how I’m going to solve this problem, I’m lucky I can afford my rent and have money left over to save and invest but all of the houses around me and within a reasonable commute to work are so expensive that either one I will have to save a long long time, two hope that I don’t stay single forever and with a second income make it work, three take a pay cut with a remote position and move deep out into the country side, or four leave the country and move to a place where I could afford a house or apartment in an urban area without leaving myself in a position with little money for anything else.
