It's all Texas today! Here's a list of the places I talk about in this video:

1. Tower Station & U-Drop Inn Cafe - Shamrock, Texas
2. Devil's Rope Museum - McLean, Texas
3. Big Texan Steak Ranch - Amarillo, Texas
4. Cadillac Ranch - Amarillo, Texas
5. Midpoint Cafe - Adrian, Texas

This is a very long lead-up to a 'til next time wink. The suspense.

That squared off part of Texas is the Panhandle. If you imagine the rest of Texas as a pan, that portion is the handle of the pan. Texas is one of nine states with panhandles. Oklahoma’s panhandle borders the Texas panhandle.

Loving this series!
Wind farms creep me out. There’s something so sci-fi about them. I picture them up rooting themselves and taking over - plus they give me crazy headaches and sinus pressure.
Can’t wait for next instalment - wish it wasn’t the final one

Hi Lefie. Pittsburgh has a lot of cool things to do and see so please come back. It's an awesome place to live, very affordable and hospitable. Nicest people you will ever meet. By the way we need the ocean instead of rivers.
My Son lives out in Cali and just loves it there. Hoping to get to visit someday. Warm weather and the Pacific. That's paradise to me. Have a safe trip and enjoy your stay. Your videos are funny and calming. Miss your sign off tho. From one minimalist to another 😉.

I found your channel a few months ago through your video about creating the dream wall notecard concept and quickly became intrigued by your video style and exploration of minimalism. I had noticed you had not posted in a couple months prior to me finding your channel and I am thrilled to see that you are back. Love this series so far. 4/5! 4/5! 4/5!

Ah, the panhandle!
Edit: I just moved out of TX, loving this tribute to my home state! 🤍🤍🤍

That's the Texas panhandle. Oklahoma has one too. And Florida maybe?
A book I liked based in the Texas panhandle is That Old Ace in the Hole by Annie Proulx. It's one of her best.

'Get your kicks off route 66 'is in my head. :) Thanks for this series Lefie. Love travel and is cool to see the Americana kisch etc. Never thought of traveling route 66, however now put on my bucket list. Am curious if you were able to stay on (if you still do) keto on the trip? Am sure if it wasn't hard in the roast /steak places and state. Thanks

I always thought barbed wire was invented in IL in the same town where I went to college (and not far from where I grew up) but I guess I was slightly off! Your video prompted me to look it up... From Wikipedia:

"The first patent in the United States for barbed wire was issued in 1867 to Lucien B. Smith of Kent, Ohio, who is regarded as the inventor. Joseph F. Glidden of DeKalb, Illinois, received a patent for the modern invention in 1874 after he made his own modifications to previous versions."

really interesting, wide vast spaces, similar to driving here in Australia.

I know it's not Rt66, but it's too bad you missed the Corn Palace on your way across the country! I mean who doesn't love corn murals!

I’m curious how many days it took you to drive across country?

I just looked up molly schuyler and she’s a competitive eater. She ate 3 of those big Texan 72 oz steaks in 20 minutes!! 😳😂🤣

I don't think I would ever visit Texas just because I've heard they are very prejudiced. Did you feel like they were like that with you?
