FYI, I prefer the 781 for its single battery operation, lighter weight, and dust setup. Some say the 781 material clamp works great by applying pressure to get a friction lock. I tried that but it still comes loose if you tap the clamped material, or it could just be me. 🤷🏻‍♂️ See ya!

Nice review. Its nice to see a "I used this in the field side by side" style comparison.

Thanks for your review. Besides the single battery and better dust collection, there doesn't seem to be enough reason to switch.

Great I’m waiting for my new cordless. Well if I don’t like it I have 30 days to trade it for power. Geez. I love my DeWalt miter which I have had for 22yrs.

Good review. The issue with the material clamp blows my mind. Just emailed Dewalt to see if they have any guidance on the clamp.

How big is the price difference? As far as tool only and kit for both? Is it a big difference?

I have a DeWalt DWS780 corded 12” miter saw. How do these compare power wise to my corded DeWalt. I certainly have never had an issue of not having enough power with my corded one.

Thought you were going to compare a sliding miter saw to a DeWalt 790 Radial Arm Love the 790 RAS!

The original had alot of problems due to the ac adapter burning motors up . The new model looks alot better and only 1 battery .

After watching this video I bought the old one for a really good price and 2 12 AH batteries.

They should have made it a 10". The 790 was already a solid 12" saw, would have been nice to round out their portfolio with a cordless 10". Or just offer the euro spec DCS727 in the states.

Does the new DCS781 have a miter detent override? For example, to lock in at 45.1 degrees without the preset sliding the table into 45.0 degrees?

whats the reasoning behind the shallow cut and then full depth of cut you sometimes make? im not really familiar with technique for miter saws so was wondering that
