This is a look at what's new with Android 6.0 Marshmallow and the differences between the phone and tablet interface.

Android 6.0 is currently available for development on the Nexus 5, 6, 9 and Player with a final release expected this fall.

My phone has Android 9. I notice similar things between 6 and 9, but it's crazy how far Android has come. I have a Nokia 2.1 with Android 9 Go Edition and it's cool. Sad they replaced the search on the lock screen with the phone, but oh well. I wish they kept the search on the lock screen. That would actually be useful. And I wish they would bring back Google Now. That was cool back then.

My impression is that developers are expecting you to organise your life around your phone. Basically you need to spend days to study every new function, and still you will get the same information from a phone call or a message as you would from any other phone, the difference is that by using M, this will get a whole lot more complicated. I'm perfectly fine with L on my G2, although it costs me the perfect battery time I had with kitkat. However it is great that you can set that security stuff regarding the apps.

Customizing permissions should come as an update for previous operating systems too. It should be seen by developers as *that* important.

Wasn't interested from first for Android M but after watching this video, I think this update will be great. I especially like the new app drawer, doze and Now on tap.
