WOMANIFESTO the first mosaic film-manifesto project originating in Athens, Greece with global ambitions to unite the voices of women artists from across cultures, generations and creative disciplines in a collective roar - a powerful demand for change.

The project presents a critical women's perspective on the challenges of our time-from the destruction of the environment and the loss of physical community in a digital world, to gender inequality and social injustice and more-captured in brief yet fierce 60-second manifestos presented in their chosen art form. The project empowers women creators by enabling a dialogue between the artists as they critique, compare, challenge and celebrate the experience of women artists today.
At the same time, by curating the individual manifestos into a single collective work - the first mosaic-film of its kind - artist, director and curator Efi Spyrou envisions a piece that places the artists’ voices front and centre in the policy and arts spaces, celebrating their power and amplifying their messages through the collective action.
The initial phase of the project involved 15 Greece-based women artists whose manifestos were filmed inside the greenhouse of the Agricultural University of Athens - the biodiverse setting mirroring the diversity of artistic voices represented within the project. Simultaneously, the setting reflects the tension between the role of women as nurturers, and the urgent need for humankind to act quickly and decisively to address the climate crisis.
