For true comfort for your guests, you need backs for any seating. Nobody is going to want to sit perched on a backless bench (even two friends!) for any length of time. If your guests cannot relax and lounge, they will not wanna hang out for long. Also cushions.

Honestly, and no offense meant, but I think I would have repaired the Adirondack chairs, added a few more (they're not difficult to build), and added cushions. Your benches look nice, but I think the chairs would have been more comfortable.

I think the bench looks a bit too large/oversized. I preferred the look of the chairs, plus I think they mightve been more comfortable. That's just my opinion though, as long as you're happy it's all good
