This Wish (reprise) | Asha and Star Boy - Wish

The moment I finished watching @ShadowSideMaster's re-imagined version of This Wish (reprise) I knew that I need to try to animate our boy based on it.
I needed to change a few parts because of the structure of the shots wouldn't have let me edit Star Boy in properly (at least not with my technical and compositing knowledge). I also needed to add a few additional cuts to be able to place Star Boy in space around the other characters but I was trying to stay true the original animatic because that is simply just perfect.

Seeing Starboy as a mute, would love to hear his voice be very majestic. Like it has like a far off echo or ringing affect that clearly defines he isn’t human.

We desperately need a rewrite. These scenes with Starboy are so much more compelling than the original, now they just need a reworked story to go with them!!

Star boy trapping the king in the staff makes more sense than it happening on it's own

What we could get: A cute magical boy who can't speak and turn into different animals, a romance between him and Asha AND an evil couple; sounds cool and we never saw that before.
What we got; A boring heroine, an annoying talking goat, a cute star who is ONLY THERE to sold plushes, a king who became evil out of nowhere, horrible pop music who don't go at all in a medieval world.

This video has more charm and creativity than the movie. I love Starboy's design and his reactions are adorable 🥰

2:22 I love the way Starboy is looking at Asha. The look of someone saying, “That’s my girl.” Like, I’m so weak for their dynamic, it’s so cute! He’s so proud of his girlfriend. 😭🥰

Star Boy made this scene BETTER! I love how you chose to integrate him.

the fact that he is mute makes the scene more emotional. Thus, he expresses himself only with his face and body. Not to mention that, it gives more impact on the scene, as it is noted that he wants to scream by calling for Asha as he see her being tortured by the magnificent and still say how happy he is to see the people joining to help them.
