James Webb Telescope Prepares for Launch! #shorts

It's finally here, the giant James Webb Telescope is preparing for launch. Astronomers are hoping to see the moment when the darkness ended and those first stars flickered into life (rr least detect a faint glow from it).

The James Webb Telescope team has built a mirror that can fold and fit into a rocket and then unfold in space. When it's fully open it will span 21 feet in diameter compared to the Hubble Space Telescope’s mirror at just under 8 feet.

A big objective of the telescope will be to find the first galaxies that formed in the early Universe.

It will be launched on an Ariane 5 ECA rocket and scheduled to go into orbit on Wednesday, December 22, 2021.

Finally!! The coolest thing about the JWST is that several instruments can be used at the same time. You can have multiple science teams investigating different things at the same time! Amazing

Hey, I’m looking to get into Astrophotography, but I have a question. If Earth is constantly rotating, then how do you take overnight long exposures, wouldn’t it just be a faint blur of light across the screen? I tried taking a 2min long exposure of Jupiter, and even that was blurry.
