I just upgraded my IBM T43. It works just as quick as my HP dual core machines.

The IBM T43 is the last American T-Series Thinkpad just before Lenovo of China took over.

It is a very thin and light portable laptop. Made of Titanium and Magnesium composite materials. Very durable and runs any software in an modern office.

IBM T43 Specs now:

CPU = 2Ghz Intel Centrino (Max Temp observed during games is 78 degrees Celcius)
RAM = 2 GB
Hard Drive = 160 Gb 7200 rpm

Only paid $200 USD for it. Still nice and clean. No dents or scratches and no shiny part on the keyboard.

I have my T43p running Vista Ultimate no problem? 2GB RAM installed. I have run complex modelling software on it at a comparable speed to my boss' dual core as well.

IBM X201 has an i5 Intel processor. It has been discontinued by IBM Lenovo. It so old and not worth talking about too?

my ibm thinkpad T43 is a awesome machine, i use linux, and can say this if a complete notebook, i have in it: bluetooh, wireless, irda, a good graphic card, and.... i thinking "would probably not run current software at an acceptable speed"? this machina can run windows 7 too, come on, you sell notebooks? my probably answer, yes. gess what i have an ibm t43 .yes it run on todays techonlogy i just got it up graded to the last soft ware. get it right befor you talk.

Just downgraded my CPU from 2.0 Ghz to 1.86 Ghz on my T43.
