If it helps, sea spiders aren't technically true spiders. They are related to both spiders and crabs, and usually look similar with 8 legs, but they have some distinct differences.

Most sea spiders stay really small, only millimeters in size, but some can be much larger than any land spider. Sea spiders also breathe through their leg exoskeletons and since their bodies are so tiny, they also store most of their vital organs in their legs. Sea spiders eat their prey differently too. Instead of bitting, they will stab a soft bodied prey (like a sea anemone) with their proboscis tube, and suck up their insides like sipping through a straw.

So which do you like better, land spiders or sea spiders? 🕷️

These guys don't bother me anywhere near as much as terrestrial spiders do.
No 8 eyes, unblinking, uncaring, staring into the void and into my soul.
No bloated abdomen,
No mouthparts,
No web for your face to walk into,
And crucially:
No. Skittish. Movement.

As a kid my father often took me on sailing trips. One time during a trip through the Mediterranean, I went swimming in a place where the water was so clean and there was so much sea grass everywhere that the whole thing looked like a beautiful surreal underwater paradise.

Back then I always used to dive to the sea floor to retrieve shells and other shiny objects but when I did in that place, I touched something strange with my hands through the grass just to realize that every square foot of seagrass there was infested by sea spiders.

It felt like I was in a horror movie. One moment I was swimming through what seemed to be paradise, in the next moment I realized that I was surrounded by literally thousands of sea spiders each one as big as my head. My father assured me that they were harmless but the shock of the situation in addition to the fact that I was told that they were called “sea spiders“ was enough for me to avoid even going near the water in that place

Almost all spiders suck up organs like a smoothie because almost all spiders have a toxic venom that melts the organs of its prey

They inject something that liquifies bugs inside their exoskeleton, right? And while they're slowly turning into a slushie, the spider fetches a straw, a tiny parasol, and a lime wedge.. Turning it into a buggy little cocktail.
And then just honks it down

The thing is they dont look like theyll get in my room at 2a.m. and hide behind my wardrobe, so quick that they give me psychic damage and permanent paranoia
