The “I” curse lives on. Ida in 2021, Ian in 2022, and now Idalia seems to be shaping up to be a significant event in 2023. These “I” storms haven’t been playing the Gulf Coast lately. Crazy to think that Isaac is the only original I name that hasn’t been retired. I wonder if it’ll finally happen next year…

I don't know if its mentioned in the video, but off the Florida Keys, the water temps reached a staggering 101 degrees. That's the average temp of a hot tub. I couldn't imagine if a tropical system formed off those waters.

Been a normally quiet season so far. I think the Atlantic will pick up the pace in 2 weeks. Hope Western Florida catches a break this year.

I have to disagree with him on one point.... Hurricane joaquin did not sink the SS El Faro. It was captain Michael Davidson who sunk the ship
