I wanted a pod, couldn't afford one. Mom got me one of these. I took it everywhere. Thanks Mom!

Dude it actually sounds really good for something that old. The cab modeling doesn't sound like it's under water

Cheaper price compared to POD 2 drove me to the v-amp 2. Many hours in college trying to sound like Korn on a 6 string peavy single coil 😂 i had no idea what i was doing but this brought back a lot of cool memories. Great video

This makes me feel really old. Man I remember reading the sales mags and seeing these.

I bought one of these when they first came out, I was a relatively new guitarist at the time, and this gave me a huge opportunity to get better while having fun.

Better than the Pod. Did all my early demoes on one of these.

Still sounds FINE to my ears! You can still get tunes done! If this box doesn't have a noise-gate circuit, you simply need to put a noise-gate box after it in the signal chain. Now I haveta find one of my own...

It sounds better than I remember. I had borrowed one from a friend in mid 00s because I wanted to try it before buying it. I didn't like the tones much back then, but they sound good on this video listening through my studio monitors. Could it be over the years, I (we) have just adjusted our ears and expectations? Interesting. Now I must subscribe to the channel.

Great bit of kit… I had the rackmount version in my studio for years, absolutely loved it! Only sold it when I bought a Helix Floor…

Not terrible at all! There were some winners in there

I’m currently still using the last red version of this into a powered behringer monitor wedge. Works just fine and it’s what I can afford for now.

When I started to play in a band, the POD and V-Aamp were just on the rise. I got a Bean, and almost every major iteraton of Line6 since. Never had a real tube amp :)

Can´t believe i found a V-AMP 2 tutorial in 2025!. I have mine for studio recording (not proffessional of course, but the results are AWESOME once you learn how to play with effects, cabinets, noise gate, eq etc....)
I take it to jam sessions with an old Peavey Bandit amp with a Celestion cone, and people gets their heads blown of how it sounds, even against a lot more modern, and expensive, gear.
Love to see that there´s more people there who loves this tiny little plastic miracle!. (Until internal battery dies and erases all your presets, you have been warned 🤣🤣)
I, m sure you know, but there are a lot of features playing with the buttons, from different cabinets to noise gate, but if you don´t have the instructions is difficult to get to them.
About the power adapter, you will never have a problem if you fix it with tape or similar. The trick is not to unplug much from the unit. Fix it hard and unplug from the cord, because the pins are cheap, not fragile but yes, if the power unit breaks, you better take it to the trash bin.
Now getting serious, i, ve seen people tossing them because they thought it broke and stop working. Is the INTERNAL BATTERY! Just change it and good as new (and really easy to do, I, m not an engineer) but, as i said, it makes factory reset so all your custom presets will be erased so you better write them down somewhere.
On the other side, a battery can last 8 or 9 year easily!
A final tip: the official footswitch is difficult to find and expensive. But ANY keyboard footswitch with a jack entrance works! Even the cheapest!

The V-Amp Pro is legit awesome. Toured with it back in the day and received many positive comments on how huge my guitar sounded.

I love old gear, it all has it’s own character. Even if it didn’t sound good, it was unique.
