The fact that this guy had a bunker is not crazy. Having no radio or communications that is crazy.

Adam is a true gamer, in his whole lifetime he never touched grass.

theres not so many wholesome and good ending movies without any despair cliffhangers nowadays, so this is a relief to enjoy

On the bright side, Calvin did save his family from imminent doom.

The most realistic thing in this movie is the dad's stubbornness lol

I loved this movie. Melker was always my favorite part of it because seeing his story unfold in the background was both hilarious and heartwarming

Crazy how she only knew he wasn’t “crazy” when she found out he has millions of dollars🤷‍♂️

the bunker did save their life though, they would have died from the plane crash if it's not for the bunker. Who knows similar things might happen again. And not sure if a normal basement can survive a plane crash with bunch of missiles and ammo inside

All being said and done the father save not only the lives of his wife and unborn child but all the lives of the 20 odd dinner party guests. Whether it was atomic bomb or airplane it was his actions that saved their lives.

Imagine if someone followed the footsteps of Adam's parents, and built an emergency bunker to stave out the COVID -19 pandemic for 35 years

For a guy that is very prepared for a nuclear winter, he for some reason didn't think to include a radio in his bunker. Which would've saved a lot of time.

So reminds me of that Twilight Zone episode where the guy builds a bomb shelter but it's actually a nuclear accident at the nearby power plant. That causes the destruction of the town. And the episode ends with him thinking he beat everybody and he's in his bunker not knowing that the world is still going on and it was just a localized nuclear accident.

Can you imagine not getting any poonany for 35 years, that combined with how well he reacted to the reality of his situation makes this one of the most mentally strong characters in any movie I've ever seen

If you think about it the dad kinda saved a lot of people by sending them away...

I remember to watch this film when I was pretty young and all I could remember was Adam's excitement on getting out of the bunker for the first time. I passed all my life thinking the movie was about some child that was kidnapped or kept inside the house without having the chance to escape. I was happily wrong. This film seems to be funny and kinda dramatic too.

The bunker still saved his life (And all of his friends cuz he told them to leave)

My house growing up was built in the 1950's. In the cellar was a fallout shelter. It was a cinder block room with bunkers and shelves. What was really ridiculous was the ceiling was plywood with cinder blocks (2 deep ) on top. I don't know what they were thinking but I am pretty sure that you'd get crushed by cinder blocks if you had taken refuge in it.

That was so nice of the lady to avoid him from selling or giving the rare cards away. There ain't many good people around anymore.
I too, collect pokemon cards and over 20 or 30 years, they'll be rare AF. My dad didn't collect cards but tried his best but most were fake cards. The only legit and first card he gave me was a McDonald's 2012 axew card which in a few months he'll pass away. Ngl I still have it in very mint condition and never gonna give it away. The first card ever to have near me.

I doubt anyone isolated from the world for 35 years would find the current state of the world "normal".
