Freddie would have probably loved Sacha Baron Cohens version.

Congrats to Malek, but I really wanted to see Sacha’s take on Freddie

Sasha is the perfect guy for the role I swear. The looks, British accent, height, body built, and this guy is a comedian that can ape any mannerism esp Freddie that is so close to his.

He would have done Freddie justice. Flamboyant AND respectfully. Shame we never got to see it

Honestly he looks more like Freddie than Rami

If Cohen did the movie, it’d have been rated R18+

Howard could have played Brian May LOL

I love how Howard immediately guesses Brian May.

I'm so glad to read so many comments stating what is so clearly the truth; Queen is not Queen without Freddie.

Queen became a tribute band when Freddie died.

That's too bad, Sacha would have been SO perfect for the role. I mean my god he really looks like him and has the native British accent!

I could not think of anyone better than Sasha being able to capture Freddie's unique charisma. Such a pitty

I saw Bohemian Rhapsody, it was a fun and enjoyable movie, but a lot of historical inaccuracies that makes the movie a work of fiction rather then a biopic. I would have loved to seen Sasha Baron Cohen's version rather then Queen's sanitized version. There is a British documentary that came out a few years ago, with some acted out scenes, that is very good, that is the closest Queen fans will ever get to an honest portrayal of Freddie Mercury and Queen.

One of Freddie's friends asked him in his last years how he wanted to be remembered on film, Freddie told him that they put anything and everything as long as it wasn't boring. There was no need to sanitize his life story.

I was so excited when it was announced that Sacha would play Freddie. Too bad they couldn't work it out. Sacha is right, the real story is Freddie. Even a life-long Queen fan such as myself can see that!

Why do Brain May and Roger Taylor own the rights to Freddie's biopic anyway? Brain May must be insane if he thinks a movie about Queen is half Freddie, half them now going on tour with Adam Lambert and putting Freddie's songs on every advert from sofa's to every other advert that has a Queen song on. How ridiculous. Sacha should work with Freddies family and do his own movie. The public want Sacha as Freddie!

I respect their decision to go on with Queen and guests singer, fans love it and they love playing the songs, but everyone knows the real Queen that people care about died with Freddie, I don't know how they can not understand that,

Rami was very good in the film, but I would love to see Sacha playing it as well, I think he'd be phenomenal

This is such a shame. Because I think Sacha would've been PERFECT for this role. I need more musical movies with SBC. His voice is fantastic!

I loved the version with Rami as Freddie but would happily watch a new version with SBC as Freddie. Art is subjective and can be interpreted in several ways. We've had how many variations of Pride and Prejudice or Little Women over the years?? I've watched almost all of them and enjoyed them all in different ways. The only problem is that SBC needs the music for any version he does and if the band Queen won't sign on, then it's not going to happen. :(

Watching the band "carry on" and go from strength to strength? That sounds like a really bad Lifetime movie. One where Brian May's mother walks into the recording studio, and gives the discouraged band members an inspirational speech.
