Grateful for this lesson. My mom arrived in a Toronto in the early 70s from the Caribbean, married my dad and I was born in Toronto.
I’ve experienced systemic racism on every level. All of my children have experienced systemic racism in the educational system in TDSB, I have could write volumes.

I thoroughly enjoyed today’s segment. As an educator, I wish I could go back and redo some of the teaching I have done, but I can only go forward and it’s discussions like this that will help to push me in the right direction! Thank you Tracey and the entire panel.

Thank you Tracy and panel. My eyes are certainly wide open now. I was astounded of how little I knew of the Black History in Canada. The Canadians put on a good show, but they were/are just like everyone else who hate black people. I'm lost for words. Once again, thank you all.🙏🙏🙏⚘⚘❤

I really enjoyed this segment. I didn’t realize that Vancouver had the equivalent of Nova Scotia’s Africville. Both communities were destroyed like Black Wall Street in the USA. As always important information like this is only taught during Black History Month. I’m looking forward to the other segments. Well done!✊🏿

It’s nice to see Dr. Afua Cooper here today. I read one of her books as an assignment @ York U for Women & Gender Studies. After reading the book, I learned that there was about 200 years of chattel slavery here in Canada. I remember she talked about this happening in Quebec.

Hi Tracy I love this five part series, I think it’s very insightful. I was wondering if you will be having any youth perspective on your panel?

BRAVA. I'm Black American. This was very informative. I really want to have a no holds barred discussion about Kamala Harris factoring in some of these historical facts. Wow.
