The launch of the SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket created a shining, billowing streak that was widely seen throughout Southern California and as far away as Phoenix, and had some wondering if they’d just seen a UFO.

Technically, it's an IFO, Identified Flying Object.

I still remember this. I was working at a hotel and was walking the parking lot when suddenly, a plume of light and I looked up stricken with awe.

I felt what I can only imagine what those people watching the first moon landing must have felt. It was beautiful.

Years from now, a launch like this will such the norm. Exciting to see changes to come, what makes it big and what flops =)

Weird how literally none of their other flights have done this. Also why is there no rocket in the video? Just an orb in the middle

Is there any physical explanation for the glow and weird light waves ?

So do all rockets do this because I've seen this happen years ago and there was no news about it being a rocket.

Every launch ive ever seen went straight up... Not at an angle like this. Me and my brother saw this a few ywars ago in the sky of Colorado. Same year wd saw a rainbow in the sky on Halloween night. Tonight we saw some red orange ball things that traveled at yhe same speed together and then evenally died out. Flying more like a frisbee than a shooting star. Too low in the sky to be an air plane. Love the Colorado night sky and what you might see in it.
