This week state lawmakers approved a sweeping school safety bill that includes some new gun control measures, millions for more mental health services, and additional funding for increased school safety measures. The bill includes some controversial language that would give some school employees the option to take part what is called a "Marshall Program" - where they would be trained and allowed to carry a firearm on campus. As we await the signing or vetoing of this bill by the governor, we get reaction from Broward Schools Superintendent Robert Runcie on this pending legislation. We also learn why he’s seeking an independent review of the shooter’s education background, and hear how the district is trying to move forward.

Guest:
Superintendent Robert Runcie, Broward County Public Schools
