Rory McIlroy is awarded his Green Jacket following his 2025 Masters championship victory. #themasters

---

Since 1934, the Masters Tournament has been home to some of golf’s greatest moments. Amidst blooming azaleas, towering pines and flowering dogwoods, the first full week of April ushers in a stage unique to golf and to sport. Over four days and 72 holes, the smallest field in major championship golf competes for a chance to capture the Green Jacket and a place in Masters history.

That last scene was straight out of a movie. "Just guna ring my mum and dad..." then drives off into the sunset at Augusta after winning the Masters. Gold.

He definitely had one of the most geniune reactions to victory that i've seen. He's tried to win this tournament for so long, and i'm so happy for Rory, he deserves this victory!

A fan of the masters for over three and a half decades. One of the craziest rounds I’ve ever seen at Augusta. Congrats Rory

The only European to win a career grand slam is really a massive win for him. Massive, deserved, inspiring. Dreams come true, he proved it.

It's amazing how in golf, a young upstart comes along and you don't root for him because you don't want him to dethrone your heroes. And then, the years roll along and all of a sudden, that young upstart isn't so young anymore. Before you know it, he becomes the sentimental favorite and you find yourself rooting for him.

That was probably the craziest final round I’ve ever seen, and to have it happen in the Masters with Rory trying to complete the slam. He left everything out there

I have wanted Rory to win a major for so long and I'm stoked he won arguably the most prestigious one. Congrats and please savor the win as much as possible.

He finally won over himself. Golfer’s greatest competitor is the person himself.

This year at age 40 I got to swing the golf club for the first time. I’m slowly getting addicted and you add this great win, I’m absolutely hooked. Congratulations Rory.

I didn't think Rory had it in him but I'm happy he proved me wrong. I sincerely hope to see this man win more majors before he hangs it up. What an amazing champion.

This was never a battle between him and another golfer. This was Rory versus The Masters. This was McIlroy versus Augusta. This was Rory versus McIlroy. An absolute rollercoaster and WHAT A FIGHT it was.

No matter if you are a 20 handicapper or a +3. Rory just achieved something we all dream of. Glory.

People shouldn't forget what Justin Rose did today. 10 birdies! And he's finished runners up three times so feel for him, but congratulations to Rory - that was special!
