Hollow Knight - Birthplace / Void Heart

So this is what you do with the Kingsoul. Neat glimpses into the main character's origins and original purpose. It sounds like the Hollow Knight, who is sealed away in the Temple of the Black Egg, is one of our siblings and we are a failed attempt at a vessel that was scrapped along with thousands of others.

EDIT: I should mention, as a neat detail, after you get the Void Heart, the siblings around the abyss and your ghost no longer attack you. The siblings just go back into the ground when you get close and your ghost remains non-hostile.

The Path of Pain is quite literally how the Pale King really feel about experimenting on his own children. No cost too great is just his way of steeling himself against the true sacrifice he gave to keep his promise as the Hallownest king to its citizen that they will remain free of the Radiance slavery of will. No will, no mind and no voice does not equate to no heart but the heart must remain void for this mission to work. That is why the Hollow Knight is really actually a failure because it's heart is not void but has devotion and love towards the Pale King like a pure child. Yet imagine that it's fate is to be locked away eternal because the father is ultimately a monarch and thus the crown come first before family. The Pale King literally self imposed isolate himself like he did his child, thus punishing himself out of grief. It's cruel not just to his own family but himself. That is the true meaning behind the sacrifice monument and the fate of the Royal family.

Wow, this whole scene is so sad. How the King of Hallownest takes the first Hollow Knight, but the other (the one we play as), got rejected.
The first Hollow Knight even looks at us, most likely feeling sorry (or not, as the Hollow Knights have no emotion).
That makes this scene my favorite scene in the entire game.

When i played this i almost felt like the knight was trying to reach to the top, the pale king. Almost like a race with The Hollow Knight. But alas, the hollow knight has already won, as you fall back into the void.

This scene makes me feel depressed and hollow for no reason... I kinda feel bad for the protagonist, tho the part where it dreamnails itself and how it fell made me laugh.

I love how the charm changes from something that represents ghost's father and turns into something that represents who they are. And how you need that, to find the best ending aka killing the radiance.

I just got to that part after putting 68 hours into that game. Having listened to the OST multiple times, I recognized the Broken Vessel's theme, which made it all the more poignant! Freakin LOVE this game and its storytelling!
