Thanks for this nice review - takes me back to the 1950s when we had family holidays at Birchington - certainly the station building is much as it was then. My dad used to bring me down to that road bridge to watch the express go through, hauled by a Bulleid pacific. Yes, the coast view is well worth the short walk.
