Testing in Practice

In this second video of our Testing Your Integration miniseries, we’ll walk through some examples of testing in practice. Specifically, we’ll create a test manager and client account, configure our API credentials to send requests to the test client account, create a campaign in our test account, and finally query our test account to list its campaigns.

After creating a test manager account, when I go into the Accounts tab and try to create a new client account, I get the following popup message. I confirm that I can see the red "test account" label on the manager account in which I am trying to create a client account.

To create new accounts, link an existing account. This needs to be a Google Ads account that has spent more than $1, 000 has a history of policy compliance.

UPDATE: Looks like this issue has been resolved by Google.

When trying to modify the same file and trying to execute the same get-call I noticed that the file was deleted in September this year. Was the logic replaced somewhere else?

Also, for me it tries to excess my yaml file from the user directory and not the project directory. Any idea how I can change that it actually looks at the correct position for the yaml file? Thank you in advance!

While signing up for a developer token through the api center in my live google ads manager account, it asks for "Company URL". Im currently in local testing environment for this project so no URL available currently. What should I write here in this case?

I can't create a test account, it says I need to link one before I've already spent more than 1000 dollars and a history of compliance with policies, however it's not possible to link a production account, that's very confusing!

Very confusing.... My test client account appears as Cancelled....

This tutorial works only if you create a brand new Google Account or remove any existing/previous/unfinished connection with Google Ads for your existing account. Otherwise the link to create a test account may lead you to create a production account without any warnings, which is extremely confusing.

Where do you find the accounts ID, refresh token etc.

If the link that should lead you to creatinga test manager account leads you to creating a new google ads account that by some bizarre logic makes you create a campaign instead, make sure you express your hate towards Google incompetent System Architect
