I have left my hive for 2 years on a family property and the hive has continued to thrive. Currently have a full brood box and 7 flow frames in the top box.

My questions are - should I change out the flow frames for new ones? Should I put new brood frames in bottom box? Can I put a new empty hive next to the existing hive, and will they go in an populate new empty hive?

And, an insulated flow hive for cold winter countries? My mother in law lives in Korea and it snows in the winter.
