Key among the U.N.’s Sustainable Development Goals is the educational aim “to ensure that all learners acquire the knowledge and skills needed to promote sustainable development” (part of SDG4), yet research suggests that global programs may be far less effective than we think. What can we learn from analyzing the U.N.’s progress to date, and what can we take away from emerging research? In this session, we’ll look at Scotland’s approach to implementing SDG4 and consider what the global evidence base tells us about the effectiveness of Education for Sustainable Development.

Speakers:
Robin Macpherson, Head of College, Robert Gordon’s College
Barry Fisher, Chief Executive, Keep Scotland Beautiful
Isabella Stuart Grey, Co-Founder, Scottish Eco Clubs Unite
