US Coronavirus response: “President Trump has made bold, early decisions' | Conflict Zone

This week Conflict Zone returns with an altered format and an interview with a top official from Donald Trump’s Republican Party. Since taking office in 2017, the US president has remade the Republican Party in his own image. Few things show that better than our most recent interview with the party’s national spokesperson, Elizabeth Harrington. She joined Tim Sebastian via Skype for our first interview in the age of Corona.
President Trump’s handling of the US response to the pandemic has become the kind of political controversy that has dominated his term in office.

The United States now has the most cases of COVID19 infections and deaths from the virus. Harrington rejected that Trump has mismanaged the response. “At every step of the way, President Trump has made bold, early decisions where naysayers ridiculed him,” she told Sebastian from Washington.

i love DW. It gives me a different perspective about my own country, the US. I live in the New York City area, which is completely different then the rest of the country. So my view of this country is generally different then the average American. The blonde woman is stereotypical of what most people think about the typical FOX News, conservative American person. It is healthy to be patriotic, but it is dangerous to be blind. This place is named the United States, but nothing is united about this country currently, and the rest of the world can see it more clearly now.

Fact i needed a test last month n could not get one. I had double pneumonia n had to b put on oxygen. Crazy thing is i was not hospital right down street from CDC. My doctor told me he couldn’t get me a test even though he thought I needed one. Trump knew since Dec when CIA told him how bad it was.

Always nice to see a conflict zone interview although it's clear that the format is constrained by the new technology. Tim can't interrupt them and challenge them in the same way as before when they lie and repeat rehearsed lines.

Great to see Conflict Zone return! Pity that the guest was easily the most hysterical in the history of the show, and that's saying something. Hopefully Tim will have a better audio setup for future shows so that he can better challenge guests.
