Mounting a plow to a 2wd truck, part 1

Drove a 2 wheel drive pickup through 16 northern Michigan winters with no issues. Sand weight over the rear axle and snow tires. Even delivered mail with it for 2 years

dont know if its too late, but old Top Gear once did an episode with a plow, and they ended up coating the blade in a mixture of oil and diesel to keep the snow from sticking to it.

Annnd I subbed when you said Northern Michigan. I'm contemplating doing this with my old 2wd Dodge, It's not really road worthy any longer. But runs and goes.

Nice video. Where I work we have one plow truck. We have 2 idi fords and a inline 6 f250 all 2wd. We put 1-2 skids of salt on the back of each and they go through the snow good. I wish we would put a plow on at least one of them so we’d have 2 plow trucks. We use skid loaders for everything. (Mostly big commercial property’s) but even a 2wd plow truck will get the job done

Use what you have...I have a 1991 Dodge small pick up 2 wheel dive...reliable and a cinch to work on...I dont think a plow would work on it...but ya never know...maybe a smaller plow like off a Ranger may work...

Just put some chains on... You will have better traction than a regular 4wd.

Not crazy at all... it’ll work. I’d prob use tire chains on the back axle since getting stuck sucks lol.
