Join us for a special two-day (Friday May 21 & Saturday May 22) event!

We are pleased to announce #AzureJavaDays a two-day virtual community-led event organized by the different Java User Groups across India and hosted by Microsoft Reactor Bangalore.

We will explore how the Azure ecosystem can help Java developers build new applications on Azure. How is Azure assisting the Java community in expediting the learning curve? How can Azure help make it easy to learn and experiment with new technologies working in conjunction with Java?

Agenda:

21st May 2021 (5 PM - 6:30 PM)

Java on Azure - Getting started with developing Java apps on Azure.

In this session, we will learn how to build and scale Java applications on Azure using Azure services (functions, App Service, Azure Spring Cloud etc).

Speaker Bio: Vivek is a technophile and an Open Source contributor with around 15 years of experience in the Software Industry and works at Microsoft as Sr. Developer Product Marketing Manager.

22nd May 2021 (10:30 AM - 11:30 AM)

Monolithic to Pragmatic Microservices with Java

In this session, we will cover:
• Monolithic to Microservices Refactoring for Java EE
• Demo of an application built as a monolith
• Break Java app into a microservices model
• Containerising the application
• Deploying and Managing Java microservices to Azure Kubernetes Service

Speaker Bio:
Mamta Jha (Enterprise Cloud Architect, Author and Co-founder)

Enterprise architect and author with 17+ years of IT experience. Skilled Cloud Solutions Architect with 9+ years of hands-on experience migrating, automating, and optimising mission-critical deployments in various cloud platforms, leveraging configuration management, CI/CD, and DevOps tools like Docker and Kubernetes.

22nd May 2021 (11:30 AM - 12:30 PM)

Title: Building and Tracing a Java Application on Azure container instances

You might want to run an App with your own toolchain or complete a simple data processing before sending the result. It is a single API or a bunch with filters, but you don't want to run a container orchestration system or VM. More importantly, you want it to be simple and easy to manage, inexpensive! In this talk, we'll see how Azure Container Instances do all of it and more importantly, we'll observe the application using Elastic's Open source APM.

Agenda:
• Building a Java Spring Web App with MySQL
• Add tracing
• Containerize the application
• Push to Azure Container Registry
• Deploy using Azure Container Instances.

All live in the session using VS Code.

Speaker Bio: Aravind is passionate about evangelizing technology, meeting developers, and helping in solving their problems. He is a backend developer and has 8 years of development experience.
Currently, he works at Elastic as Developer Advocate and looks after the Developer Relation function of India, South East Asia.
