One of the reasons Ennio Morricone is my favourite film score composer!

Maestro Morricone knows exactly how to tickle and delight the imagination.
This music just oozes swanky. A brilliant score for a brilliant film.

Amazing music and an amazing movie. Robert DeNiro is fantastic as Al Capone, but then again he's fantastic in any role he plays.

Amazing film, and none other than Ennio Morricone doing the soundtrack. A recipe for perfection.

Quite the puzzler today as I was listening to Jon Anderson and Vangelis' "The Friends of Mr. Cairo." The leitmotif in that composition from 1981 is the same as heard in "Al Capone." I can't find much reference this anywhere. Morricone apparently borrowed it for his work on the 1987 film.

Reminds me a lot of 'Poverty' from Once Upon a Time in America.

This would have been the perfect theme for a crime-boss take on The Penguin in a new Batman movie.

Chris04mce. Thanks for posting this wonderful Morricone piece. Just a note...this is not a "song", it is a musical "theme" or composition.

Does anyone know the name of the song that plays when Al Capone smashes the head of that guy with baseball bat and the camera zooms out

Morricone uses to many modern rock instruments, like drum sets and distorted guitars. He gets and accent of the feel but always keeps the feel too far away. Same with how he used that weird distorted guitar (violin?) In 'The Balled of Sacco and Vanzetti', feels out of place
