Welcome to my 531st solo fingerstyle guitar arrangement video on YouTube, Quiet Afternoon by Stanley Clarke, off the school days album. These 70's Stanley Clarke albums are among my favorite from that era, as funky and soulful as it gets!

From Wikipedia:

School Days is the fourth solo album by jazz fusion bassist Stanley Clarke. The album reached number 34 in the Billboard 200 chart and number 2 in the Jazz Albums chart.[3]

Hi Jake, even though I could not remember the songs from the School Days album other than the title track, this was nice. I went back and compared it to the original. With his backing musicians and sound effects doing so much, you gave as nice a solo guitar arrangement as I can imagine. But the melody line and groove was so so 70's laid back, one way to maybe bring it to the next level is to send out an add for some eye-candy, a sweet young thing who can sing, write some lyrics, and have her cooing away beside you. That would really help people forget the burden of 'social distancing'.  Hmm ... was just thinking, you could send this video out over Fiver, ask for lyrics, and choose the best of the lot, and do the same thing for a female vocalist. Wouldn't take much money, and I think that combination could be a YouTube hit — just the right thing to ease us through this pandemic and troubling financial times.

Cheers from Japan, Jake.
And thanks again for something so smooth to wake up on a Saturday morning with. — steve

p.s. I was driving back from an overnight fishing trip at Kawaguchiko near Mt. Fuji, and listening to tracks from on of my favorite Pat Metheny albums, Secret Story, and when the song 'See The World' popped up, I immediately asked my self ... 'Hmm, what would Jake have done with this gorgeous melody line?'

I think I understand why he took out the bridge pickup.
