Switched from Express VPN to Nord. Was getting ~60 Mbps down with Express VPN. Get 96 Mbps with Nord. My connection is a 100 Mbps down 20 Mbps up VDSL2 connection, so basically zero speed loss using Nord for me. Using the nordlink protocol, and auto selecting fastest server.

My download speed was nearly cut in half, while my upload speed is the same all while having Nord VPN on my router. My download speeds without VPN on are 250 Mbps down and 11 Mbps up. that download speeds drops to 120 Mbps. It's not bad! I just wish there was a setting in the DD-wrt FIRMWARE to increase that speed without jeopardizing my VPN.

Hey I just bought Nordvpn for my desktop. I use an Ethernet cable. Anyway my problem is that my internet is ridiculously slow while using the vpn unless it appears as “unidentified network” instead of “Lynx Network” on my desktop.

While appearing as “unidentified network” my speeds are fine. It’s random whenever it chooses to do that.

As with so many of the comments below … Nordvpn simply cripples my connection speed. I have tried all their suggestions and nothing works!! Incredibly frustrating to pay for a product that actually makes connecting to the internet so much poorer. My advice would be to look at other options.

Nord just aint it. Not sure if its where I live or what but I went from 570mbs average to not even being able to open my browser to be able to check what its even at. Tried every single server, tried wifi, tried hardwired, tried restarting my router and pc, I have a $8, 400 gaming pc so I know for a fact its not on my end. Cant even open Nord without everything turning into a frozen snail.
