IGP on his impromptu visits to police stations

Newly appointed Inspector-General of Police Datuk Seri Abdul Hamid Bador said his impromptu visits to police stations were to allow him to assess the welfare of his front-line personnel as well as receive feedback and complaints, such as the condition of their barracks.

He was speaking to reporters after the handover ceremony for deputy Inspector-General of Police Datuk Mazlan Mansor on Wednesday.

An IGP of the highest international standard. PDRM will now have the chance to raise its standard and be seen as professional in many ways esp with setting up of Police Conduct Commission. Death in police custody is matter of concern - CCTV should be installed in all custody rooms.
