Одна из самых классных пар в аниме! Кстати, мне одной показалось, что блондинчик похож на Акацуки из, ,Рыцаря вампира, , ?

SPOILER ALERT: For those wondering what the relationship is between Shusei (brown-haired guy) and Hotsuma (blonde guy), they were officially married in their past lives because Shusei was a woman back then. They tried to have children but failed. Shusei was reincarnated for the first time as a man, but Hotsuma feels the same way (he's only homophobic with other men) and explicitly says that he's not drawn to any woman. Since he and Shusei are both Yuki's "guardians" and servants in ALL their past lives, they are supposed to feel desire and friendship with Yuki exclusively- but Hotsuma rejected Yuki even in their past lives because he wanted to be loyal and devoted to his wife.

In the current lifetime, Hotsuma has to resolve his inner conflict toward Yuki- causing misunderstanding on Shusei's part. Shusei thinks Hotsuma is "in love" with Yuki and only tries to resist the feeling because of guilt and loyalty toward him (Shusei also got permanent scars from being burned accidentally when he tried to stop Hotsuma from committing suicide through spontaneous combustion- hence Hotsuma's guilt for causing him those irreparable scars. Theoretically, when guardians cause each other injuries, those injuries can't be healed even by Yuki).

In the manga, drama CD and the anime, Shusei finally tells Hotsuma that Hotsuma is really in love with Yuki- but Hotsuma denies it sincerely, saying that he feels protective for Yuki- of course- but Shusei is "different" and he will never again look at Shusei with guilt because it distresses him. He makes Shusei promise AGAIN never to leave his side. When Hotsuma was kidnapped by the enemy before this incident, Hotsuma tells Yuki that Shusei is the ONLY PERSON HE NEEDS- that Shusei is enough and that he doesn't need anyone else in the world. He used the "voice of God" (his special power/ability as a guardian) to bring Shusei back to life. From thereon, Shusei tells him this is the reason why he and Hotsuma should be on equal ground- because they owe each other their lives.

In the manga, Hotsuma tells everyone with a straight-face that Shusei was his wife back then and that he's the most beautiful woman in the world, causing Shusei to be so embarrassed.
