I’ve been using Photoshop everyday professionally since 1995 and have worked with many large companies. I agree with all the tips here but would like to add when it comes to selections, learning to use the pen tool to create paths by hand is one of the most important skills in any Photoshop users arsenals. A lot of the new a.i. based/content aware tools are ok (I personally would only use them for a quick and dirty draft) but nothing can compete with masking like the human eye and brain especially in situations where there is little to no contrast between the subject and the background i.e. in shadow areas.
