This topic - serial killers, kidnappers, rapists and maniacs always attracted me. Though I`m just a nerd, actually a coward, no sadistic or masochistic inclinations. I wonder what it is. I always end up watching documentaries and movies about them.

Memory is a strange thing in humans, seeking nostalgy movies of 1960's I saw when teenager, from nowhere comes to my mind hit movie of Terence Stamp "the collector"...but not so vividly, first I remembered his first name Terence, then I thought his movie was tramp, then I googled for "Terence tramp movie "...then out of nowhere one of google results was Terence Stamp, suddenly I remembered that name and found one of his movies was the collector that was the one I was seeking!

oh, its so nice. had this been made today this shot would have been filled with screeching violins and overbearing drums. the silence makes this scene (and all others) so... human. had music been present it would most likely have painted either in a good and bad light, which would have utterly destroyed one of my favourite ideas in this movie/book: that he isnt really an evil man. oh, its so easy to pain him in a bad light, to make him rotten and vile, and tomake her beautiful and precious. oh lord am i glad they stuck to the book.

gotta do the cooking by the book, as they say.

The finest, IMHO, performance Terence Stamp ever gave- how such an incredibly handsome, those eyes! that sensual mouth! I digress! He was dating Iconic Jean Shrimpton, still the most beautiful, worthy of "super" model ever, at the time I think- they have similar faces and if they had had kids....I digress too much...No matter how often I watch this movie, I am struck by how creepy, how thoroughly revolting Terence made himself- far beyond, mild mannered- how he tilts his head, how every hair is in place, his neat apparel- an expensive suit? I am not a "suit" woman so I wouldn't know- although I still love, Tommy Nutter? and one other tailor/designer, from Swinging London era- a sad, sad, story, like so many from that time- he was married to a marvelous textile designer, Celia? Sorry, ironically I can't stand gossip type magazines and never read them! Give me, Art Forum at the hairdressers...Sorry channel owner, you can delete this babble, I am in poor health of late, I've been tested for covid, negative but I have some of the symptoms and my circadian cycle is in a reverse mode for some reason- Terence Stamp, so gorgeous, so photogenic, isn't what the average maniac looks like- check out any show on forensics- but he is so accomplished here, you are terrified just sitting in a theatre- so much suspense when that medieval dungeon door begins to open! Why didn't his entire career stay of this calibre? When I hear his name, rarely- I think of this film- both of them deserved Oscar's or Bafta's. Sorry for mouthing off so tiresomely- Namaste from Canada

Didn't he ask her out in real life and she rejected him?

She's a prisoner as she should be. Should have kept her in that cell for 30 years. Just because.
