UN session on Venezuela: Is the US organizing a coup d'etat? | DW News

The UN Security Council held an emergency session to discuss the ongoing crisis in Venezuela. US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo called on the world pick sides and for the Security Council to support back self-proclaimed Interim President Juan Guaido. Venezuelan Foreign Minister Jorge Arreaza accused the US of organizing a coup d'etat against Maduro. But Russia's UN ambassador is urging the world to stay out of the crisis. Moscow and Beijing are among Venezuelan leader Nicolas Maduro's chief backers. EU Foreign Policy Chief Federica Mogherini says Maduro must announce new elections soon or the EU will recognize Guaido as interim president. Venezuela rejects the call.

How can they tell a country who voted in someone, the anglo americans do not like, not to have them as president?

Democracy, works like that, and countries should accept who countries vote in.

You always see russia, accept election results, no matter who gets in. How come america cannot?

Usa, has kept all the countries south of there border, in perpetual 3rd world country status, and thats all down to usa policies, in that area of the world they dominate. No other reason exists, other then the usa gov, keeping those countries down, exists, to explain why all those countries are essentially all 3rd world countries.

When will all of central, and south america ever understand that usa gov has never helped your countries.

I am a Venezuela, here everyone is happy that the civilized countries are contributing to end years of oppression and starvation, we are the ones Venezuelan who are fighting every day in the streets. We are in a bad situation because of the regime. time has come for freedom and life. those who are not Venezuelans have no idea what is to live under a dictatorship and live with no access to food or medicines supplies. Hugo Chavez allowed the Cuban intelligence to control certain jobs in Venezuelan army and politics. Rusia and China have been taking advantage of the situation, now we need help from international countries because it has been very difficult to get rid of Chavez’s Legacy: Maduro Regime by ourselves. As Venezuelan I recommend to everybody who will like to make an opinion on this matter to educate themselves, read about our reality back there and what is the part of Cuba, China and Russia in all of this.

I’m not saying that the states is all good but people just because of that doesn’t mean that the government of Venezuela is saying the true.

People is dying in here of hunger or been killed by the army.

So is much more complex than what you think.
