Emergency room doctors at Ascension hospital go on strike

After years of asking for better working conditions, emergency room doctors at Ascension St. John in Detroit walked off the job. The way they see it, wait times as long a 15 hours is too long for people to be waiting to be seen - and the only way to get better conditions was to go on strike.

We as patients need to join this fight as well! We pay rediculous high premiums and for what ?
There is not enough staff or Doctors or nurses to provide the proper ultimate care and services that patients truly need!!
Also because of Covid they use to be heroes until they were given an ultimatum. Sickening!!

Most of Michigan is like this. Esp SJMO and Beaumont lol. It’s worse in other states, esp costal states. The residents and doctors in costal states don’t have a spine though. That’s impressive that these fly over states doctors are willing to jeopardize their careers lol

Omg. Its been like this in Florida for years. My dad waited 12 hours in a waiting room at Lee county Memorial Hospital. 13 years ago. 😢He had heart problems that required a pacemaker. 😢Florida health care is awful now HCA is using doctors doing there residency. My dad went back up to Michigan and died at Warren hospital with a steph infection. 😢 No one cared, no one investigated. It was his fault for dying, having heart problems and being old. 😢

I just want to point out the hospital stopped the team one health contract. The hospital is operating without an ER. We need to go back to hospitals being ran by docs, not corporations. These corps. treat doctors like high priced assembly line factory workers to make money. Also hospitals should not be allowed to have IT subcontracted out oversees. Ascension fired 300 IT workers in Troy three years ago and replaced them with a company in India. Ascension gets no sympathy from me. Reap what you sow. I hope their shareholders start pulling out.

Never seen it so bad trying to get medical care it's miracle I'm still alive. I grew up going to St John Cottage and Bon Secours. They should stayed that way not.all merged up.
