These are the types of videos I love to watch. I can only watch so many aquarium gallery tours.

I've been craving diy fish videos for a long while! Sure it's cool to watch you set stuff up, but real DIY, not buy it yourself is what hits the spot.

I needed this today. My filter broke on my 20 gallon (I know tiny compared to yours), but it was what I needed. Thanks Joey. I enjoy all your DIY and aquarium build videos.

This is very cool man! Best thing about this type of build is that you could literally use any type of plastic container. Black background in your tank? Get a black container, etc.

Spaghetti storage container works really well.
I have gotten many Ideas from Joey.
I used aquarium safe epoxy to cover the outside of the container
and made it look like a bunch of rocks.

I have been running the more passive design of yours (w/air pump) for over 3 years in a 20g planted. Will be doing a 60 gal reef with your newest upgrade this summer. Thanks!

Im in the go of building my own canister filter with a sealed container, i have to make my own since the drawer that im gonna put it in simply just isn´t high enought for the cansiter filters that you can buy. Im sitting at about 105$ for now after purchased 2000L/H pump, waterthight 10L container, bulkheads and a cable gland for the pump powercord. About the same pricerange as for a Sunsun canister filter with same pump output but with a lot more room for biological media. Biggest issue with my build was to find the right bulkheads for my need. Im superhappy with my result, i did have a tiny leak from where the powercord from the pump went so i ordered a good cable gland that i hope will fix the issue.

These videos make me think about years back, even it the builds are stupid simply i love watching them, relaxing and gives me motivation for my own projects!

I built a 2 liter version of your smaller filter/skimmer you did on a video a while ago that was similar to this for my 55 gallon. It's worked perfectly. I just hid it behind some plants. You can't even tell it's there. Plus, it's quiet. 😊

Love diy tank ideas. Especially when they’re done on the cheap.
