CLIP DESCRIPTION:
In his final moments, Khan (Ricardo Montalban) attempts to destroy Kirk (William Shatner).

FILM DESCRIPTION:
Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan is fondly regarded as being the closest in spirit to the 1966-69 TV series that spawned it. Admiral Kirk (William Shatner) escapes the tedium of a desk job to join Mr. Spock (Leonard Nimoy) and Dr. Leonard "Bones" McCoy (DeForest Kelley) on another space mission. While boldly going where no man etc. etc., Kirk crosses the path of his old enemy Khan (Ricardo Montalban), who as any die-hard Trekker can tell you, was the chief antagonist in the 1966 Trek TV episode "Space Seed." Leading a crew of near-savage space prisoners, Khan insinuates himself into the Genesis Project, which is designed to introduce living organisms on long-dead planets. Intending to harness this program for his own despotic purposes, Khan engages in battle with the Enterprise crew.

Khan's death scene always tears me up. Mr. Montalban's passionate delivery was spot on.

Ricardo brought such life and passion to Khan! Smiling as he dies, because he believes he is taking Kirk with him. A masterpiece of acting. 40 years after seeing it on the big screen, and I still get chills watching Wrath of Khan. Without a doubt, the best of the OS cast movies.

One of the best scenes ever filmed in the history of EVERYTHING.

For anyone who says Star Trek never had a great villain on par with Vader or the Emperor, I direct them to Kahn.

I was in my dorm with a bunch of people, and I quoted Khan when asked about how I felt about a certain NFL player, and this cute girl thought I was so cultured for quoting Moby Dick, and I was like, yeah sure.

RM was just a class act. He really played a galactic Ahab chasing his white whale perfectly.

I love the ticking music as Kahn gives his last words.

I think Khan died believing he won, which is okay by me. I can see why he was filled with vengeance. It was time for him to join his woman in the afterlife. Taking on Captain Kirk is more than enough for SEVERAL lifetimes.

That moment when the ensign says "Sir the mains are back on line..." gives me the chills every time.

1:11 Underrated shot. The way their ship blasted through the cosmos is AWESOME.

When Chekov and Terrell are exploring the crashed ship on Ceti Alpha 5, you can see the book "Moby Dick" on the shelf just before Chekov grabs the buckle and realizes that they're on the Botany Bay.

For hate's sake, I quote Herman Melville at thee.

Such a great clip. Montalban's acting is amazing of course - but the music really adds to the tension as well.

The Herman Melville hook was seen again in First Contact. When Lily Sloane was making Picard realize that the Borg was his white wale. Good reference.

The most chilling scene when Bones says, " Jim, you better get down here!"
as Jim responds, " Bones!" and cut to Spock's empty chair as Captain Kirk realizes what has just taken place! Watch him run like a child-running home to his mommie to make it go away and make him feel better-This scene speaks volumes upon volumes!
