No one escaped old age, I prefer to get old and die at home with my children besides me if possible to be able to say your final goodbye to them.

I am currently in this stage with my 79-year-old husband. We have already downsized and move to a new community (and a much more expensive community at that) in order to have more senior services available for us. (In our old community we were also not eligible for anything because that community did not pay into the pool.) But the issue still is available, trained people and a way to coordinate his care. We are in that category of having too many assets to qualify for anything but do not have enough liquid cash to pay the $90.00 per day for senior day care (Evergreen Commons Daycare Center) for him and occasional respite care for me. The statement in this video is "I need to go off duty now" is so true for me.

With our growing, aging population, it's likely that pressure will be brought to bear on Congress to legislate help for caregivers and their families.
