I have been using chatgpt to help me learn more about robotics. Using Arduino and sensors. It is scary how much it has helped me compared to a few years ago when trying to learn something in tech. Before I would use YouTube, books, practice and fail. Spend hours trying to figure out where I messed up in the code and it be a capital problem lol 😂. Major difference, and just the beginning.

Love the analogy of ChatGPT as a smart coworker!

I asked chatgpt something along the lines of "Please give me a python project. Do not provide me the answer. Break the script into sections and provide detailed requirements for each section (import, variables, functions, etc) and it was a nice learning experience.

*Here you go A.I rookies :* 😂 My prompt cheats ! _“Generate a cheat sheet for JavaScript array methods.”- “I need a cheat sheet for Python pandas library.”-“Can you create a cheat sheet for SQL commands?”-“Give me a cheat sheet for Swift’s basic syntax.”-“Create a cheat sheet for Python regular expressions with common patterns and syntax.”-“I need a cheat sheet for React component lifecycle methods and their usage.”-“Generate a cheat sheet for Git commands and their descriptions.”_

I’ll be 50 in October and I remember learning computers way back in the day. We had to give it very basic commands using < > before the command and/or using ? before a question. I’m trying to think of learning something like Python along those lines.

I have to be honest, I don’t see any Boomers learning this and most of my generation (Gen X) has no interest in AI unless they’re forced to for their jobs.
That being said, I think it’s really important for everyone to learn how to work with AI, particularly ChatGPT. Far too many of my peers are stuck on Facebook.

Sundas, I completely agree with you. My job requirements were 180 degrees opposite from my Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering. As part of my project, I will be developing an artificial intelligence system using Python. ChatGPT free version didn't give me what I wanted, so I switched to version four and within two months I had developed a complex AI system, even though I wasn't familiar with Python.

chatgpt works better if you tell it who it is and what you want frol it and who you are first . for example "you are my professor in programming and i am a student, awnser my questions with 100% accuracy"

I love you, I was hesitant to use chat gpt because I didn't want it to write all the code for me, but after seeing your thumbnail I gave it a try and asked it some questions and it actually gave me great advice. I even had a problem with a small project I was doing to make a media player it is something I set off to do to learn python in my own way. I asked it what was wrong with my code and pasted it in the chatgpt input bar and it found two places in my code where i messed up and after going back and fixing them it worked perfectly. Again I thank you for showing up on my youtube page or else I would have been struggling with looking up and searching through documents and not understand what the heck I am looking at.

I'm in the process of learning Python. I started at the beginning of the summer (2023). I like using chatGPT and bard for building exercise, projects, mini projects study guides, flash cards and much more. The more I use them I'm learning how to fine tune the questions I ask. The one piece of advice I would give, for learning to code is to be careful of just using copy and paste.

Very nice tip about the "Comment the following code..." suggestion👍

I'm sorry, but chatgpt is actually not as good as you think. It can't even iterate properly or efficiently through a jagged array using nested for loops. It provides false solutions. For example, code provided to take input from a user for a few integers and pulling the records from a jagged array does not display the correct records. Language models will not be replacing programmers any time soon.
