Matt Czuchry & Emily VanCamp - The Resident Exclusive Interview

Richard Phippen from HeyUGuys interviews Matt Czuchry & Emily VanCamp for their TV show The Resident which launches in the UK on The Universal Channel 10th April 2018.

During the interview they talk about the political climate we're in, how the show addresses US heathcare, striking the right balance for Matt Czuchry's character Conrad Hawkins and what it was like working with Bruce Greenwood.

As a registered nurse, I think they do an awesome job on the show and with what they said about how they had no clue as to what liability doctors and nurses really have is so true. Society really doesn't have an understanding of what people in the medical field go through and just how much we have at stake with our professions,   So for them to say that it was really nice to hear.

OMG! I’m obsessed with this show. I’m only halfway through the 2nd series. I watched the 1st series in one day and I could not turn the TV off. ALL the characters in this film are phenomenal (especially Conrad and Nik’s characters) and all the medical scenarios on this show are captivating and make you want to know what the next medical catastrophe will be? I just LOVED this series! Thank you to the creative and brilliant Directors, Producers and Cast members for bringing this show to life!

I disagree with the interviewer. Conrad’s character is not hard to like, he’s easily my favourite. Also I agree with the whole confident not arrogant piece that Matt Czuchry said

They are spot on with how it really is in a hospital. It’s far from glamorous. They are honest, of course some sensationalizing, but pretty right! Coming from a nurse/healthcare worker of 20 years. Both very genuine.

Absolutely love this show, can’t get enough of it. The chemistry is wonderful between them and their characters are so believable. To see Conrad huddled on the floor when Lily died was gut wrenching, it would be nice to think most Drs have this side to them. Keep up the great work, we want more, more, more. Thank you

I started watching The Resident about a month ago on Netflix. I'm already in the 4th season I can't stop watching. This show should have 10 seasons. I love these two as a couple, they could be a real life couple.

They are the heart of the show. Their chemistry is 100 percent. Its because of them that i watched it. When emily left i couldn't watch it anymore. I thought the advertising of his love triangle in season 5 and 6 was distasteful. I didn't want to see him with anyone else . When you lose your true soulmate their is no time table on when you can move on if you even can. Bringing her back at the end of season 5 which i watched only confirmed their chemistry and made me miss her more. I wish they could have wrote it without her dying. We never got to see them as a family. These 2 worked so hard in their relationship to just have it been taken away. First 4 seasons are great! Conic forever!

It is so refreshing to see two celebrities who are down to earth and doing a very respectful interview. Sometimes when you watch a TV show and then later see an interview with one of the cast members you're shocked at how unlikeable they sometimes are in real life. Not with these two.
Have just finished watching the first three seasons of the show and I think they are both amazing actors. Liked the show too, although the writers need to be careful not to overdo it in my opinion, as for example Shonda Rhimes does with each and every one of her shows, which are all completely over-the-top.
