Opening Ceremony: How do we build back better
The Women Who Deliver Vaccines Collectives (WWDV) will open this Ceremony. Men will testify of the concrete actions they are taking in solidarity with women colleagues who work in immunization.
During the summer, the Movement for Immunization Agenda 2030 (IA2030) grew to over 10,000 members. At Teach to Reach, Movement implementers from national teams, districts, and health facilities will report on their progress in tackling their most difficult challenges using their local resources and capacities.
Listen to local practitioners share how they are taking action to recover immunization services and build back better
Poor connectivity? Listen to our podcast
Working together, IA2030 Movement practitioners from 99 countries produced in just four months over half a million data points. Grounded in their local experience and expertise, this massive volume of information has been synthesized into practical knowledge and insights about “what works” to build back better. These constitute new community-based learning resources being used by local practitioners that could also inform country, regional, and global stakeholders.
See what we learned from Teach to Reach 6 in June 2022
Both recovery and future preparedness depend on the resilience of local communities, health professionals working at the local levels. We call on global partners, especially the architects of future pandemic preparedness, to take the time to listen to and learn with health professionals from the frontlines.
Watch our interview with Kate O’Brien, WHO’s Director of Immunization: Should global partners pay more attention, listen more intently… and, if so, how?
MAIN PLENARY: We are stronger together, health professionals and communities
Before going on to meet other participants individually in the "networking" session, this Main Plenary will give you an understanding of the three themes of Teach to Reach: Connect 7:
Networking Session 1: Idea Engine. Share an idea or practice that can improve immunization outcomes.
Networking Session 2: Interpersonal Communication (IPC). Share your challenges and successes in communicating with caregivers and communities. Download the UNICEF manual on IPC…
Networking Session 3: Root cause analysis. In the face of declining immunization outcomes around the world, how do you find the root causes of the challenges you face?
You will listen to colleagues share their experience to build back better to prepare for the next pandemic, explain how they identified root causes that helped them focus their efforts to lead change, and explore how to improve communication with caregivers and communities.
You will meet the “Guides on the Side” for this Teach to Reach: Connect 7, in partnership with UNICEF: Charles Kakaire, Gloria Lihemo (francophone) and Deepa Risal Pokharel. As we listen and learn together, the Guides will share feedback and insights, as well as practical tips, tools, and other resources developed by global immunization partners.
