Tin Flipping For Snakes in South Georgia (February 2020)

The first week of February ended with an awesome day of tin flipping in South Georgia. We ended up seeing decent numbers of snakes, but the insane wind made recording difficult and our day was cut short by the looming severe thunderstorms.

Man I wish I had more time to get out and do some field work. But with 200 venomous snakes to take care of at my facility I am lucky to get out a few times a year. So I watch you buddy and you are a die hard herper !!!! Good stuff young man. Willy at #venomcentral

Back home in PA we used to put down sheets of black asphalt siding. They absorbed sunlight get warmer than anything else and we would find multiple species of herps.

You found some beautiful stuff! That close-up shot at the end of the salamander is great! I would have been tempted to take that first King Snake home! He was so calm and didn't seem at all threatened by being picked up.
