Great video info and it works unlike when I called apple support who could not do it remotely and the reason was on this tutorial he said hold the cmd + R buttons down at start up and keep them down until at least half the bar was showing on an older Mac, worked first time !

I know this video is old but I need help why when I do the first step a lock appears with a password area below can I bypass this?

Can't just want to wipe everything. It's my old macbook pro from years ago. Nothing to back up or restore, I want it as if I bought it fresh. Would it be easier to just install new hard drive?

I follow all your steps and the only issue I’m coming across is that it keeps saying “the recovery server could not be contacted” which is not allowing me to do the last step that you showed.
