Picked Wolcen up during a Steam sale thanks to this video. The campaign is short, but the gameplay's generally fun. However, this town-building new game+ mode is pretty cool. I'm way more into the "Champion of Stormfall" mode than I ever was in the campaign. Anyway, this is a good recommendation, and it'd be nice if Wolcen made enough returns to keep it getting updates. The game is a pretty cool mix of Dark Souls/Bloodborne and Diablo, leaning more towards the Diablo side. You can't just spam a bunch of skills, you need to stick and move. Fun stuff, definitely worthy of a playthrough for ARPG fans.

I picked it up a few months ago on sale, and I'm actually enjoying it. It looks great and plays well (at least in sp) so far for me.
I think the Steam reviews are skewed negative for reasons or whatever, but right now, if you like the genre, it's good. Solid B tier.

3:40 campaign is one of the strongest Wolcen pros. It's very cinematic for ARPG, has great levels and bosses, as well as it introduces game concepts gradually, you have opportunity to play with various skills more (as respeccing late game is more time consuming cause you need to tune your items too).

After being dissapointed by the D4 beta I looked through my library trying to find something to play till the next POE league and saw Wolcen, decided to load up and was very much surprised. I have not played it in quite a while and I was blown away with the level of their cinematics (granted some have bad camera angles), the creative design behind the bosses and how good the combat felt. I was instantly hooked and can't get enough of this game right now!

Unfortunately it doesn't really matter if the game is decent if it's unplayable. Solo, sure. But I like to play games with friends and there's been a Desync issue since day one that STILL isn't fixed. It locks the any one that joins your game to facing a certain direction. Me and a friend came back to check it out a few months ago and it was still present. So every time we moved maps one of us would be stuck, not able to attack in any other direction. Needless to say we just swapped games to another ARPG instead with no issues. Needless to say, I did enjoy the video a lot. Good stuff dude.

Im going to take the plunge and purchase this game TODAY! ARPGS are one of my favorite genres as im a Diablo/POE fanatic! The last GOOD ARPG i played besides the Diablo entries was Grim Dawn so hopefully my experience with Wolcen will be pleasant AND fun!

Thanks for this video. I was just uninstalling games from my library and I wondered if anything had changed with this one (played for around 30 hours or so in 2021). Im definitely gonna give it another try now!
