In Korea spam is given as gift in presentation sets - its seen as a quality dish ! My good lady (south korean) makes an excellent Budae Jjigae - its quite simple to make if you can get all the ingredients. And as a brit, i have to say 'SPAM SPAM SPAM SPAMMMITY SPAM' because of Monty Python :)

I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one who loves spam stuff! :D Stores a very long time and it is actually quite versatile and will feed ya in a pinch! I've used it as an ingredient, fried, and even out of the can in the field! Now, I've never tried any brands other than the original. Thanks for the taste test-lol :D

I was seriously considering this as an alternative to actual SPAM since the prices for shelf stable foodstuffs have sky-rocketed in years passed., but now I'm not so sure about investing. Thanks for taking this particular bullet for the rest of us, Erik.

When I saw it come out of the can it looked and sounded just like Friskies Pate cat food coming out of the can. Then the cat jumped up on the table. I had to laugh. But the cat wouldn't eat it. Even funnier.

I remember as a kid my parents buying something called Treet which was probably a step above Alpo or Kennel Ration and cheaper than Spam!

Yum! A tin can of sodium soaked mystery meat/scraps from the cutting room floor. If I was starving and only had that lump of mystery in a can I would find a sharp stick or rock and get to diggin earthworms they would definitely be more nutritious. The turkey buzzards would get the 💩 in a can.

In Canada we had a brand I think made by Maple Leaf called Click. It was good. I like all sorts of spam like stuff too.

I'm a SPAM guy too. I could never get my 3 kids (now 40, 38, & 36) to eat it. One of my favorite treats is fried spam sandwiches with lettuce, tomato, and mustard on toast. Ya..., I try every type spam type product I come across and some I like but nothing like good old, unadulterated, slimy SPAM. On my bucket list is to make one SPAM Festival. I'd be in heaven. Especially the Hawaii or Guam Spam festivals.

One knock off I would suggest you avoid is Celebrity Luncheon Loaf from Dollar and a quarter Tree. It has a rubbery texture and tastes terrible. I tried it so you won’t have to. Also the second ingredient is Pork Plasma. Sounds like a horror movie.

I always buy the actual spam and I usually just heat it in the microwave and it's pretty good. I would never buy the stuff you bought ever lol I guess I'm bias due to the fact that I live in Minnesota were the real spam is made and in fact either sometime this year or next I plan on going down to the spam museum here.
