Meet Becky Straus and Cyd Maurer, two legal aid attorneys working hard to make sure that Oregonians facing eviction know that legal help is available.

It’s no secret that there is a housing crisis in Oregon.
Prior to the pandemic, Oregon was in the midst of an affordable housing crisis. The pandemic has only exacerbated that problem.

Enter the Eviction Defense Project, a statewide effort to provide critical legal information to tenants in Oregon facing eviction.

This video is second in the series of a 4-week CEJ fundraising campaign that highlights lawyers who share the stories of the work they do to help make a difference in the lives of the most vulnerable populations that live in our state.

Oregon lawyers established the Campaign for Equal Justice in 1991, with the mission of making equal access to justice a reality for all Oregonians. Almost 31 years later, we continue to work toward that goal.
