Just bought the hybrid CRV. An amazing car. After driving Toyota RAV 4 Hybrid (not even close) and Venza (nice but not as good), there is NO COMPARISON. The ride is incredible, and top of the line touring beats a Lexus. No kidding. This is a high quality car. Honda has hit it out of the park....

Seems like this is one of the few genuine, unbiased car review channels left. Great videos.

I know the EPA and all car reviewers still go by the rule that hybrids get better gas mileage in the city than highway, but as the owner of several hybrids I have never found this to be true. The ideal speed for mpg is 40-60 with lots of coasting coming up to stops and traffic lights. Pushing the car in the 70s or 80s will definitely drop the mpg like a stone. In the city, with all the starts and stops, I average only the low end mileage usually designated for typical highway mileage. These personal findings for mpg have been on a Civic hybrid (2007), Toyota Prius (2014), Accord hybrid (2017), Accord hybrid (2018), Accord hybrid (2020), CR-V hybrid (2020) and Accord hybrid (2023).(As I list all these cars, perhaps I've bought too many cars?) I can also certify that cold weather kills hybrid mpg to well below advertised levels. I'm lucky to get 40 mpg with any car in the northern climate in Ohio. I think with a light touch on the gas the CR-V Sport Hybrid for 2023 could get around 37 but 40 is probably a rare occurrence.

Great video. Just bought a 2024 model and your review taught me things the dealer did not cover.

I'm in the UK and just bought the CRV PHEV ( plug in hybrid), which I don't think is available in the USA, it is the same colour as your test car but cosmetically it has body coloured trim around the wheel arches and gloss black window bars and roof aerial, it doesn't have the chrome trim on the front though. The UK model of the car you are testing looks almost the same, but without the chrome front trim and 18" wheels in grey.
Having watched the whole video now, I can see quite a lot of differences with my car spec. Mine has an electric sun shade for the roof, carpeted trunk sides, SOS accident call button and breakdown call button, also no stick shift, all done with toggle buttons, we only have 3 trim levels here, Elegance AWD, Advance AWD, both self charge hybrids and the model I have Advance Tech FWD.
All ours come with a trunk cover as standard and the power tailgate has handsfree opening using a sensor under the rear bumper. Also our wheels are 18", not 19" for some reason, but does give it a smoother ride possibly. The biggest difference is ours are much more expensive, too much government sales tax ( around $12, 000 on mine)
I understood too that B mode was also to regenerate power to the battery when it self brakes, not just for brake assist down hill, in fact it brake assists on level surface too.
Thanks for posting the video, good to compare

Thanks for the great review! The only thing I don't care for is the two chrome things on front of car. What are those? If they were flat black and contained LED fog lights, I would be more impressed.

Now my first Honda CR-V Sport I can afford.

I can’t remember if it was said that the car starts off the 12v battery. It doesn’t, the traction battery starts the engine and the smaller lead/acid battery is reserved for lights, instruments, wipers etc.. This is true in the smaller hybrids available outside the USA and I’m supposing the technology is similar.

I have the 2023 CRV Hybrid TS. It’s exceptional quality, great chassis, inspiring driver confidence over all its rivals like Kia, Hyundai, RAV4 etc.
The rear taillight has a kool hands free mode with a kick of your foot! There’s also FOB remote engine start. It’s total electric powered under 40mph so it’s EV smooth. At highway speed it suffers like all hybrids do in power/mpg. It’s the best hybrid SUV that’s not luxury. Thanks for your thorough review.

I test drove this the other day and it was amazing! Such a fantastic ride! Really surprised me because while I love Honda but I've been something of a Toyota fanboy recently. But I'm definitely buying this car in the next year or so.

I just bought the 2025 EX-L hybrid in radiant red metallic, beautiful car drives very nice and the they fixed the clown car horn problem. Pricey though, especially up here in Canada but so far I’m loving this car. Of course I’ve only had it a few days so I guess time will tell.

I got the 24 in Still Night Pearl a week ago today. I really like the Sport Touring trim. My last car was a 21 EX-L. Much improved from the previous gen.

UK version i'm getting doesn't have a gear selector lever. It has all button also has a full panoramic roof which also opens. I see this video has a temporary sunscreen up during recording and mentions the sun being an issue. We don't have that issue in Scotland so much. 😅

The lack of birds eye 360 degree camera and HomeLink is baffling to me. It has so much though...

Best video I've seen concerning the CR-V. I especially like what comes inside the center armrest. Is that a dealer installed option?
