My eyes really enjoy dark mode. :) We need to keep in mind that we're literally staring at lights, and when you're using white instead of dark grey background, you're just blasting light into your eyes, which can't be Dark mode is remarkable for my eyes. :)

I think the tested apps are more "dark grey" in dark mode than "amoled dark", where the pixels are actually turned off if you have an oled/amoled display. So if you use an app that's "amoled dark" then it should yield better battery life.

Apps should have pitch black mode too (which on amoled would actually turn off the pixels (well, LEDs), which not only looks better (subjectively), but means even more battery saving than dark mode.

Based off the comments here, I’m an outlier. Dark mode hurts my eyes. White text on a black background strains my eyes and gives me a headache.

Phonebuffs tests kinda prove otherwise though, I think they save like 5% which is quite a bit of power for light tasks like texting or it could mean the difference between being able to make a phone call or not.
